Patellar Tendinopathy Study - Runner's Knee

Under the supervision of Dr. Francis Fontaine MD Med Sport Dip (CASEM).

We are currently looking for subjects over 18 with patellar tendinopathy for more than 3 months to participate in a comparative study of 3 treatments for this condition (randomized double-blind). We will compare the efficiency of platelet-rich plasma injection, autologous blood injection, and percutaneous tenotomy under ultrasound guidance. Following the initial treatment, the patient will be followed 4 times over a period of one year.

Inclusion criteria
  • Be over 18 years old
  • Have patellar tendon pain for more than 3 months.

Exclusion criteria
  • Have coagulopathy (hemophilia)
  • Take anticoagulants such as coumadin or pradax *;
  • Have severe anemia
  • Have active cancer or metastases;
  • To be pregnant or breastfeed.

* Plavix and aspirin are accepted
